DETROIT – Ford Motor’s third-quarter U.S. new car gross sales elevated 7.7% in comparison with a yr earlier, pushed by elevated gross sales of conventional pickup vans throughout its lineup.

The Detroit automaker on Wednesday reported a 15.3% improve in truck gross sales in comparison with a 5.1% decline in vehicles and gross sales of SUVS that have been primarily flat.

An ongoing strike by the United Auto Employees union in opposition to the Detroit automakers, together with Ford, was not anticipated to immediately affect gross sales through the quarter.

It is a growing story. Please examine again for extra updates.
